Faculty and staff members at Purdue University gathered at the Memorial Union this past Wednesday for the Your Path Wellness Fair, an event designed to bridge the gap between employees and the various health resources available to them. The gathering served as a comprehensive hub for personal improvement, offering attendees a chance to explore several facets of their overall well being under one roof.
With more than 35 different exhibitors present, the fair took a holistic approach to employee care. Rather than focusing solely on medical checkups, the event highlighted critical areas such as behavioral health, financial stability, social connectivity, and the often elusive goal of maintaining a healthy work life balance. This broad spectrum allowed employees to identify specific tools tailored to their individual needs while discovering perks provided by the university.
Candace Shaffer, Purdue’s Associate Vice President of Benefits and Payroll, emphasized that the event was about more than just distributing information; it was about fostering a sense of belonging within the campus community. She noted that creating these connections is vital for staff morale and that providing a clear roadmap for engaging with total wellness resources helps employees feel supported in both their professional and private lives.
